Step-by-step manual
Self-exclusion in Czech Republic
The Czech Republic has a national Register of Excluded Persons (Rejstřík vyloučených osob, RVO), run by the Ministry of Finance. Every licensed operator, online and land-based, must check it, and casinos and gaming rooms verify it on entry. You can register at your own request; others are added by law, such as people in insolvency or receiving material-need benefits. A voluntary entry has a protective period of one year, during which you cannot ask to be removed. After that it remains in force, potentially for life, until you request removal, and you can renew the protective period. A separate 48-hour panic button is available through operators.

The steps
- 1
Pick a filing method
The fastest is the Ministry's online forms portal with verified electronic identity (eObčanka, NIA ID, bank identity or MojeID). You can also use a personal data box, a qualified electronic signature, post with an officially verified signature, or file in person.
- 2
Fill in the form
Choose the request for entry in the register on your own request. Give your full name, date of birth and permanent address; adding email and phone helps the Ministry contact you.
- 3
Verify your identity
Online, your eID does this. In person at the Ministry (Letenská 15, Prague 1), bring an ID card, passport or permanent residence permit; a driving licence is not accepted.
- 4
Send it and keep proof
Submit the form; online filers can download a certificate of the digital act. Requests are processed in order of receipt, and no fee is charged by the Ministry.
- 5
What happens next
Once entered, licensed operators must refuse you, online and at venues, which check the register on entry.
- 6
Add blocking tools
The Ministry blocks illegal sites, but new ones appear. Install blocking software and ask your bank about gambling payment blocks.
- 7
Removal or renewal
After the one-year protective period you may request removal using the Ministry's form. If you want continued protection, apply to renew or extend the protective period when three months or less remain.
