Step-by-step manual
Self-exclusion in Curaçao
Curaçao has no national self-exclusion register. Instead, the LOK requires every licensed operator to offer self-exclusion lasting from one to ten years or permanently, applying to all brands operated under its licence. Licensees must also provide cooling-off periods from 24 hours to three months, during which betting is blocked but withdrawals are allowed, and deposit limits where increases take effect only after 24 hours. Because an exclusion covers only one licensee's brands, people who use several Curaçao-licensed sites must exclude from each, and should also check whether their home country's self-exclusion scheme or blocking tools cover offshore sites.

The steps
- 1
Identify the licensee behind each site
Check the footer of each site for the licensee's company name and CGA licence details. Several brands may belong to the same licensee.
- 2
Request self-exclusion in your account
Open the responsible gambling section of your account, or email customer support asking for self-exclusion. Ask that it applies to all brands under the licence.
- 3
Choose the period
Licensees must offer self-exclusion from one to ten years or permanently. If you only want a short break, cooling-off from 24 hours to three months is available, but self-exclusion is stronger.
- 4
Withdraw your balance
Request withdrawal of any remaining funds and ask for written confirmation that your account is closed and marketing has stopped.
- 5
Repeat with other licensees
Each exclusion covers one licensee only. Repeat with every other operator you use.
- 6
Use home-country tools
Install blocking software, ask your bank for a gambling block and register with your country's national self-exclusion scheme if one exists.
- 7
Complain if the exclusion is ignored
If a licensee lets you play during an exclusion, complain to the operator first, then to the Curaçao Gaming Authority with evidence.
Before you start — what to know
- Exclusion covers all brands of one licensee, not all Curaçao-licensed sites.
- A Curaçao licence does not make a site legal in your country; many national regulators block or prohibit such sites.
- Your home country's self-exclusion register may not bind offshore operators.
- Cooling-off allows withdrawals but blocks betting; it is not a substitute for self-exclusion.
- Keep screenshots and emails in case you need to complain.

Frequently asked questions
What is a Curaçao gaming licence?
A licence from the Curaçao Gaming Authority under the 2024 National Ordinance on Games of Chance, allowing a company to offer online gambling, mainly to players outside Curaçao.
Does a Curaçao licence make a site legal where I live?
Not necessarily. Many countries require a local licence, and sites with only a Curaçao licence may be illegal there.
How do I self-exclude from a Curaçao-licensed site?
Request self-exclusion through your account or customer support. LOK licensees must offer one to ten years or permanent exclusion across all their brands.
Where do I complain about a Curaçao operator?
First to the operator, then to the Curaçao Gaming Authority if the issue is not resolved.
