Self-exclusion in Colombia

Colombia has no national self-exclusion register. Coljuegos requires each licensed online operator to offer self-exclusion and responsible gaming tools, such as deposit limits and time-outs, inside the player's account, and land-based casinos keep their own exclusion lists. An exclusion therefore covers only the operator that granted it. Because illegal sites remain accessible despite blocking by Coljuegos, people who want to stop completely usually exclude from every licensed site they use, add blocking software and bank restrictions, and seek support through their EPS or peer groups.

The steps

  1. 1

    Check which sites are licensed

Coljuegos publishes the list of authorised online operators. Note every licensed site and casino where you have an account.

  2. 2

    Use the responsible gaming section

Log in to each account and open the responsible gaming or self-exclusion settings. If no option is visible, contact customer support in writing and ask for self-exclusion.

  3. 3

    Verify your identity

Operators already hold your cédula de ciudadanía details from registration; land-based casinos will ask for your cédula and may take a photograph.

  4. 4

    Choose the length

Each operator sets its own options, often from a few months to indefinite. Choose the longest period available and ask for written confirmation.

  5. 5

    Withdraw funds and stop marketing

Withdraw remaining balances and ask to be removed from all promotional communications.

  6. 6

    Block illegal sites

Install blocking software on phones and computers and ask your bank whether it can restrict payments to gambling merchants.

  7. 7

    Seek support

Ask your EPS for a referral to mental health or addiction services, or join a Jugadores Anónimos meeting.

Before you start — what to know

  • Each exclusion covers only one operator; there is no shared register.
  • Illegal sites are not bound by exclusions, so blocking tools are essential.
  • Ending an exclusion early depends on each operator's terms; many do not allow it.
  • Land-based casinos and bingo halls run separate exclusion processes.
  • If a licensed operator lets you play while excluded, complain to the operator and then to Coljuegos.

Is there a national self-exclusion list?

No. You must self-exclude separately with each licensed operator and casino you use.

What happened to the 19% VAT on online gambling?

How can I tell if a site is licensed?

Check the Coljuegos list of authorised operators and look for the Coljuegos licence details on the site.
