Gambling help in South Africa

South Africa's main specialist service is the National Responsible Gambling Programme (NRGP), a public-private partnership funded by the licensed gambling industry and run by the South African Responsible Gambling Foundation. Its toll-free helpline offers free counselling and referral to a national network of trained treatment professionals, including face-to-face therapy at no cost to the client. The NRGP also supports people who have self-excluded. Gamblers Anonymous holds meetings in major cities. People in acute distress can also reach national mental health support organisations, and family members can access counselling through the NRGP.
